1. What is the process? How does THIS service work?
Look through the Media section for videos, interviews and the Blog. We highly recommend doing that first for thorough information. We have compiled close to 20 years of information about: matchmaking, coaching, online dating profile setup, the whole process, videos, interviews, articles, and reviews. It will help explain the process along with informative and educational materials about relationships in general. The process itself starts with you filling out the Sign Up form, which you can find on the website under “Get Started” Tab. Once we have all your information, we will go over it and know if we can help with matchmaking, coaching or anything else you’re looking for. You can always pay directly on the website for all the memberships, or through Venmo, cash, check or direct bank transfer to avoid credit card fees. We meet with everyone, either in person or over Zoom, FaceTime or other video call.
If you have questions and need answers prior to filling out the form, we encourage you to schedule your personal Consultation with Julia. We will set aside up to an hour for you, and will answer any questions you may have, go over details and discuss the next steps.
2. What is the difference between the Database MEMBERSHIP, and a more personal memberships?
The difference is this: when you’re a database member, we can’t guarantee when we will reach out to you with matches. You will be placed into the database and we will contact you once we have someone looking for a match like yourself.
Don’t worry, we are continuously going through the database picking out matches, as well as always recruiting and interviewing new potential matches for you. We can’t really guarantee when your matches will be presented to you; sometimes it is within a couple weeks of you becoming a member or a few months. Once you purchase this membership we put together your profile, enter it into our database, and keep you active. Once we have a potential match we will contact you to see if you want to meet them. Both of you will receive each other’s profiles.
The other matchmaking membership we offer is more personal and guarantees more matches within a 3 or 6 month period. That membership means you are our first priority, and we are actively looking for matches for you for the entire time. These memberships come with guidance, coaching and feedback before and after each date. 3 and 6 months memberships come with a photography session (you receive all the photos as well). If you are interested in a more personal membership, please let us know when we speak (depending on the level of difficulty they range in price and depend on many factors).
3. What is coaching and do I need it?
Some people are not ready to date yet, meaning they just got out of a marriage or a long relationship, and still healing from the trauma or trying to figure out what they want. There are many times when we feel the person simply isn’t ready to date, and when that happens we work with them in getting them ready for dating and for a relationship. It can be anything from self-esteem, working through past issues, abuse, neglect, or simply trying to figure out what they want in a partner, and what is best for them. You still need to fill out the online form so we know all about you, and whether or not you need coaching first.
4. Do you meet with everyone and can I pay when we meet?
Yes, we do meet with everyone, usually prior to setting them up on dates. It can be virtual over Zoom or in person depending on everyone’s schedule.
We accept cash, Venmo, credit card, personal check or a bank transfer.
5. How many people do you have in your Database?
It’s a hard question to answer since it varies on a weekly basis. We work fast and once a person is matched, they’re no longer in the database. We also have people signing up on a daily basis, so the number changes all the time. Please keep in mind that it’s not about how many people we have, but the right matches for you. It’s quality over quantity. You can go to large matchmaking corporations and they will throw hundreds of people at you, but none of them will be right for you. The goal of this service is not to waste your time, but to have you meeting with the right matches.
6. Does everyone pay, or just the men pay and women are free?
Everyone pays: men and women. We don’t believe in only charging the men, and having women pay nothing. The playing field needs to be even, and everyone needs to have skin in the game. It helps us to know who is truly committed and serious about this process.
7. What type of people do you work with?
We have people from all walks of life: all cultures, ethnicities, races and nationalities. College educated, business owners, blue-collar workers, etc. We work with straight and gay men and women from roughly 25 years of age and all the way into their 80s and 90s. Match by Julia does not discriminate based on your age, gender, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status. All are welcome to apply.
